Okay, so I'm guessing almost everybody in the blogging world saw Mary Portas: Secret Shopper last night?! I did, and may I say I was appalled. Not because of the sloppy service she received, but because she decided to go 'undercover' on Oxford St, at Christmas. Now, forgive me if I'm wrong, but you saw how busy the shops were, and can we really expect them to stay immaculate all day long in those conditions? Perhaps if you were shopping in the likes of Harvey Nics and Selfridges but not the most popular high street stores. I have a few rules for shopping in Primark:
1. Don't go on the weekend.
2. Don't go on your lunch hour and
3. Don't go hoping to find what you're looking for, because it won't be there.
If I want to tackle 'Primani', I either go early morning, or evening and it is bliss. No queues and no mess on the floor. However, most, if not all, of the staff in the Manchester branch are foreign and this does sometimes cause problems when asking for help!
As said in the previous post, I work in New Look, and my God is it hard work, especially at Christmas when the queues are around the shop! I'd like to see Ms. Portas herself tidy the sale on Boxing Day!
