Hello! So, after a 6 month hiatus, and completing my University degree (yay!), I'm back!
I'm still kind of new to this whole blogging thing, so my posts will probably consist of gobbledegook, so please bear with me whilst I find my way!
Firstly, I'm going to do a bit of shameless plugging. I'd like to show you some of my uni work. I've just finished doing a Fashion Promotion with Styling degree, this has involved mainly image making working with photographers, art directors, hair and make up artists and professional models. My website/online portfolio is www.rebeccatakacs.carbonmade.com. Check it out! If you're a creative, get in touch if you want to work together! <3

BLINDED BY THE LIGHTS
This time on Friday I will be walking around Amsterdam. I cannot contain my excitement! As part of my uni course we have been told that we need to undertake 'field work' in a major city for our final project. After some searching online, I found that it was cheaper to go abroad than to go to London. I've paid around £150 for flights and accommodation, for 2 nights and 3 days. Whilst I'm there, it's the final weekend of Amsterdam International Fashion Week, and although I'm not lucky enough to get tickets to the proper thing, they hold a 'spin off' called Downtown, which has events and shows for the public to attend, and most of them are free. Bonus. Whilst I'm there, I plan on getting on lots of trams and just taking pictures of everything! There are a few shopping streets I want to go to, a photography museum and a museum of bags and purses too. Obviously I want to go to the Red Light District too, as you can't go to Amsterdam and go and have a sneaky peek! Has anybody been to Amsterdam before? I'm not sure what to expect! I'm already packed and ready to go..take me to the airport!

SECRET SHOPPER

I have a few rules for shopping in Primark:
1. Don't go on the weekend.
2. Don't go on your lunch hour and
3. Don't go hoping to find what you're looking for, because it won't be there.
If I want to tackle 'Primani', I either go early morning, or evening and it is bliss. No queues and no mess on the floor. However, most, if not all, of the staff in the Manchester branch are foreign and this does sometimes cause problems when asking for help!
As said in the previous post, I work in New Look, and my God is it hard work, especially at Christmas when the queues are around the shop! I'd like to see Ms. Portas herself tidy the sale on Boxing Day!
What are your views on the show? Do you think she is making all high street shops out to be bad?

I JUST CAME TO SAY HELLO
My name is Rebecca, but everybody knows me as Bex. I am 20 years young and in my third and final year of studying Fashion Promotion and Styling at University. I work in fashion retail therefore I almost eat, breathe and sleep fashion. I am an avid reader of blogs and magazines however unsure on how to write myself, so bear with the spelling and grammar mistakes.
I am not an expert on fashion (let's face it, even Karl Lagerfeld can get it wrong) but more of an enthusiast. I love the high street (I work for New Look) and spend most, if not all, my money on clothes, shoes, handbags, scarves, jewellery, and lingerie.
The aim of this blog is like a virtual scrapbook of things I find interesting, my interpretation of trends, my wardrobe and general fashion-y bits and bobs.
So here goes.
Wish me luck!
